Build narration in Studio
Import a structured document into an Audio project to organize narration by chapters. Edit paragraphs, assign voices and regenerate the passages that need changes. Music and sound effects can sit on separate timeline tracks. Export an individual chapter or the complete work, then share a read-only timeline to collect feedback at the exact point in the audio.
Turn an existing recording into another language
Start a Dubbing job with an audio or video file, or a supported video URL. Choose target languages and adjust speaker similarity before confirming the quoted cost. Dubbing v2 produces an automatic result for download; transcript editing and audio regeneration through its API require Enterprise. Its similarity setting balances resemblance to the source voice with delivery in the target language.
What Eleven v4 adds to voice production
Released on September 28, 2026, Eleven v4 handles tone, pacing and dialogue context while keeping a speaker’s voice consistent. It supports more than 90 languages, improves long-form generation stitching and adds Professional Voice Clone support. The Turbo variant serves lower-latency conversational workflows. Both are available through ElevenCreative, ElevenAgents and the API.

The speech API returns audio in formats including MP3, PCM, WAV and μ-law. 192 kbps MP3 requires Creator or above; 44.1 kHz PCM/WAV requires Pro or above.

Speech API
Public APIs convert text to speech and expose audio, voice and agent workflows. Choose the voice and model for each speech request.
API authentication
Send the API key in the xi-api-key header. Keep it on a server instead of exposing it in browser code.
Limit a key’s scope
Restrict each key by endpoint permissions, a credit quota and an IP or CIDR allowlist. Non-allowlisted requests receive HTTP 403.
Understand concurrency
Concurrency depends on both plan and model: Multilingual v2 allows 2/3/5/10 concurrent requests on Free/Starter/Creator/Pro; Flash allows 4/6/10/20. This is simultaneous processing, not requests per minute.
Connect an assistant through MCP
The hosted MCP server lets compatible assistants manage ElevenLabs agents and create speech through an OAuth-authorized connection.
Connection controls
MCP access follows granted workspace permissions. Individual tools can require confirmation, and the connection can be revoked from the client or ElevenLabs settings.

Privacy and organization controls
Choose storage location
Standard customer data is stored in the US. Enterprise can use separate EU, India or Singapore environments; storage residency alone does not guarantee all processing stays in that region.
Zero-retention speech requests
Enterprise speech API requests can use enable_logging=false for zero retention. History features, including request stitching, are unavailable for those requests.
Model training
Content can be used to improve services and models under the non-EEA service terms, subject to opt-out and applicable account terms.

Export, migration and alternatives
Move between regions
Moving to an isolated region uses a separate account, key and workspace. Some resources must be recreated through the API; dubbing is not currently available in isolated environments.
